Who can set up a PBS?
There are several PBS centres run by churches, charities, families and individuals.
How many students do I need to start?
It is possible to begin using the lessons
with either a single student or a large group.
Which lessons should I use?
Bibletime Lessons are for 4-15 year
olds and should be used according to the print schedule indicated on
the order form. New Life and Gleaners lessons are for young Christians
and adults and can be used in any sequence.
How do I get the lessons?
We suggest that the lessons are downloaded from our website or ordered
from BES. Please download the syllabus and contact us if you would like to make an order.
Distributors should note the current lesson in the Bibletime syllabus, it is suggested that children are not
started in the middle of a subject, within a current series.
How do I start?
Children and young people who have little knowledge of the Bible are
best introduced to Bible Study using the Bibletime Starter Lessons. These lessons
have been written especially for this purpose and are based entirely on
Luke’s Gospel. Starter Lessons can be ordered in quantity for general
distribution. However, Distributors should not be discouraged if only
10% or 15% of lessons distributed are returned. Ideally it is good to
give a Luke’s Gospel with the Starter Lesson if the students do not have
a Bible. (It is essential for Levels 3 and 4) It is suggested that the
Follow On Lessons (Units) which are also based on Luke’s Gospel, are
ordered in good time so that they are available as soon as the Starter
Lessons have been completed. Some groups give Bibles as a prize once the
Luke Series has been completed.
We also suggest that that the regular Bibletime lessons are ordered,
once the children have completed one of the Luke Series, so that there
will be no delay in providing lessons when they have completed Unit 3.
Children and young people who are familiar with the Bible can be started
on Bibletime lessons immediately, beginning with the current lesson in
the series.
The lessons can be used with just a local group or with national and
international young people and adults by using the post. As the group
expands, it will be necessary to have some efficient markers so that the
lessons can be marked and returned to the students without delay. We
suggest starting with a network of family and friends as markers and
then encouraging them to find others to help in this role. |
